Telling time games for kids
Reading an analog clock is tricky: two hands, two scales and some odd phrases like “quarter to”. These games take it one step at a time, from o’clock and half past to five-minute times.

When do children learn this?
Hours and half hours in grade 1 (Year 1–2), quarter past and to in grade 2 (Year 2), five-minute times in grades 2–3 (Year 3).
How to help at home
- Talk about the time during the day: “It’s half past three — snack time!”
- Start with the short hand only, then add the long hand.
- Count by fives around the clock face together.

What age should a child tell the time?
